Mr. Percy Moyaba | Entomology | Best Researcher Award

Researcher | ARC-Onderstepoort Veterinary Research | South Africa

Mr. Percy Moyaba is a dedicated researcher at the Agricultural Research Council–Onderstepoort Veterinary Research (ARC-OVR), specializing in insects of veterinary importance, particularly Stomoxys and tsetse flies, which serve as mechanical and biological vectors of Trypanosoma parasites. His research focuses on vector ecology, molecular detection of trypanosomes, and radiation biology of tsetse flies. He has contributed to several national and international research projects, co-authoring multiple high-impact scientific papers on tsetse fly distribution, endosymbionts, and control strategies in northeastern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Mr. Percy Moyaba has presented his findings at prominent scientific gatherings, including the International Conference on Entomology in Kyoto, the PARSA Congress, and the South African Veterinary and Paraveterinary Congress. His academic background includes advanced degrees in Environmental Sciences with a specialization in Integrated Pest Management, and he is currently completing his Ph.D. at North-West University.
