Prof. Dr. Gwang Ha Kim is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Pusan National University School of Medicine, Korea, with expertise in therapeutic endoscopy of the upper gastrointestinal tract, endoscopic ultrasonography, gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, and advanced image analysis. He earned his M.D. from Pusan National University College of Medicine in 1993, followed by a Master’s degree in 1996 and a Ph.D. in 2003 from the same institution. After completing his internship and residency in internal medicine at Pusan National University Hospital, he served as a medical officer in the Korean Army with the rank of Captain before pursuing a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology. His academic career includes appointments as Assistant Professor (2003–2007), Associate Professor (2007–2015), and full Professor since 2016. He has also enriched his academic profile through visiting scholar positions at Kitasato University East Hospital in 2006 and Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington, in 2014–2015. Prof. Dr. Gwang Ha Kim has contributed significantly to gastrointestinal research, with influential publications on endoscopic resection, surveillance of gastric cancer, artificial intelligence in endosonography, and clinical applications of circulating tumor cells in esophageal carcinoma.
